Mural made with spray paints on a wall of the fancy Zurbaran restaurant. Athens March 2017
Zurbaran is both the name of a famous Spanish painter but also the name of a fancy restaurant in Kolonaki. In that place, I painted a mural to accentuate the restaurant’s fancy aesthetic. A beautiful garden, a lake full of water lilies, a pergola covered with bloomed lilac bunches, a water fountain, and two ancient Greek statues are the components of this mural. The restaurant’s customers enjoy their fancy meal without getting bothered by the vandalized graffiti statues, the homeless person that sleeps next to the fountain and the garbage bag.
We got too used to the current state of affairs that we no longer pay attention to it, even though it provokes us ostentatiously.
